Kelly,

Please use them. I adapted them from some that the Director of Technology of El Paso ISD used. He never received any replies from his. Be sure to let us all know if you get any answers.

Scott,

What thoughtful and insightful questions! May I borrow them to ask my own legislators?

I have to applaud Rep. Merritt. He appears to have a solid grasp on the serious issues facing public schools in Texas. I only hope that other legislators change their thinking to see the issues more fairly and moderately. As a high school administrator, I have absolutely no problem with accountability. But we have to address the elephant in the room - demographics have more to do with testing well on TAKS than anything else.

We need to educate the whole child and prepare them for this ever-changing world, not simply prepare them for a test. And, unfortunately, that's what we end up doing because that is what the students "need" most. If we go to end of course testing, that is a good start... but, as they say, the devil's in the details.
